Skin improvements

Posted by Sensual on May 18, 2002 at 21:26:55:

I have found that since eating salmon, as in Atlantic Salmon, Ihave noticed a definite improvement in my overall skin tone. I am eating it at least three times a week. But also importantly I have noticed that cutting out all sugars except some fruits such as Rockmelon,Kiwi Fruit, strawberries, well, most fruits that arent excessively sweet, my skin is heaps better. Although I do still occasionally break out under my jawline(hormonal, I am sure) my face is pretty much clear of breakouts.

I am not eating junk food, such as chocolate or chips anymore and so far I am thrilled with the improvements. Even the minor scars have started to heal. Very surprising! The improvements have been happening for the last month. Skin tone is definitely healthier. So If you suffer with acne, or not happy with skin tone, try Salmon. If youlike it that is, I love Salmon.(it is somewhat expensive, but well worth it) I also am TRYING to eat more salads. Have to get creative with that though as I can easily get into a rut and get bored with them.

I have also noticed that since restricting junk food, my mind seems much clearer. Plus at the same time as avoiding sugar and all simple carbs it must be doing wonders for my candida.

I occasionally take colloidal minerals for my muscle cramps that I get occasionally and it drives me nuts. Especially as it seems to happen right before my dance class, but since taking colloidal has definitely improved.

If your wondering salmon's skin healing ability is due to the presence of long chain omega three oils in its tissue.

Atlantic Salmon is farm-raised on the Pacific Coast.

(Huh???)

That's right. Atlantic Salmon has become very rare on the Atlantic coast. And it was no help to try to farm-raise it on the Atlantic coast; for some reason that doesn't work. It farm-raises on the Pacific coast a lot more successfully. I guess it gets shipped from the Pacific coast to wherever you are.

The proportion of Omega 3's is less in farmed salmon, but it is still there.

I also heard that farmed salmon has trans-fatty acids in it because of the trans-fats in the feed it gets. This I find hard to believe but I suppose it's possible.

Your skin can get MUCH nicer looking from giving up sugar and false foods. I remember it well. (I am not perfect right now, however). Could be the salmon oil is helping too. Good on you.

BTW, Are you referring to the nightclub The Globe in W.A.?

I recently saw a report on T.V. about farm-raised fish and other seafood. The report stated that they are full of antibiotics which are fed to them. Great news, hey?

Walt,

I feel that I AM on the path. I have soooo much more energy. Even my early rises for work arent affecting me like they use to. I use to be soooo sapped of energy at work, I honestly dont know how I functioned at work at all. I sometimes felt more like a 52 year old than a 32 year old. Things are turning around. And, shock, horror, I am actually starting up an aerobics class this morning. Can you believe it, Walt!?

I am so happy at the moment. Amazing how health can change your perception on life. And my new diet minus all the junk and sugar, I am not getting ANY cravings at all, not even for chocolate. Maybe its the meditation really helping, probably body likes getting good food, hey, and no longer wants junk.

Plus, Walt, doing something in life you truly love with a passion, whatever it is, can add so much to the quality of your life. You just have to find it. Mine is dancing.

My outlook on life has done a major turn around.
Amazing how perceptions can change your reality totally.I am soooo thankful to you, Walt, and the board members here for showing me the light. Hee! Hee! Gettin' deep, huh!???
I hope I can stay as happy as I am right now. I am certainly going to try my darndest to. Once you feel this good, it is enough to keep you motivated and keep going. So, this is wellness, huh? Well worth it!

Wonderful news. More "mystery meals" for our delectation. :(

PS My local supermarket told me wild caught salmon could not be found anywhere, but Trader Joes has it
