STRESSED AND ZIT-FACE

Posted by Adult girl on April 17, 2003 at 09:45:38:

It's like my nightmare is coming back. It was 2 years ago
when I was going through some hard time, being unemployed
and getting abused by my spouse at the same time - I broke
out with a hundred acnes. And now I am having some tough
time and I startd to see zits on my face. A week ago I had
one and right now I have 6 small red crusty eruptions
around my mouth, face line and by my nose fold, 4 dark
scars. Now I am a PIZZA FACE! I am practicing SR twice a
day but how can I do to treat those scars to dissapear
quickly, and most important, how can I stop getting new
ones? I am on a whole foods diet so what else can I do....
help!!!

What kind of soap do you use? I used to have acne that always came and went, and you're right, I think a lot of it is due to stress but mine has been under control ever since I started using Hypo-alergenic laundry detergent and facial soaps. The best facial soap I've ever found, and I've tried them all, is Johnson & Johnson liqued soap, mild. It comes in a clear plastic pump containor with a blue label and either a green or pink stripe, if I remember right. Try it. Also, I wash my hair with this stuff called Nizoral or Mizoral, sold at Wal-Mart, and with the lather I wash my face using it once a week. I was told this by a Dermatologist and also it was in Men's Health magazine. I haven't had problems doing and using these things ever since. Good luck.

I've used a product called Proactive for years. You may have seen the ads on tv for it. It works great at controlling break outs and is especially good at getting rid of scars from past break outs.

the Acne Archives on the bulletin board is where you should start. You should also read the article on Essential Oils--the gist of it is that if you take them regularly, the sebum in your pores will be less thick and will not be able to clog them to form all the pimples and other stuff. I took essential oils for a couple of years, but when I increased my dose as Dr. Stoll suggested, I seem to be experiencing less severe breakouts. for some reason, my skin was already clearing up, but I would still break out in the same places where old zits had been. Lately, when breakouts in these places start, they don't look as bad and go away more easily.

As for cosmetics, the most valuable product evaluation site on the internet is Paula Begouns's www.cosmeticscop.com. She evaluates just about every known beauty product for its effectiveness and if it will really do what the manufacturer claims. When I bought her book, Don't Go to the Cosmetics counter without me, I found out I had been throwing my money away on a lot of expensive skin care products that made my skin worse. When, i switched my skin care products, my skin also improved.

Hi, Adult.

Listen to Mary.

You are operating so close to the edge of your cliff that all it takes is an emotional upset to precipitate acne.

You need to "fix the roof while the sun is shining". That means practicing wellness all the time so an emotional upset will not flare you up.

The EFAs might just help you get over this episode.

Let us know how you do.

Walt

Dr. Stoll, I AM practicing wellness. I eat almost 100%
whole foods only, going to the gym once a week and being
active all the time - lately I don't walk around as much as
I used but I am still in shape - I am a thin person. I have
been practicing SR twice a day listening to Brainsync CDs
and I had Biofeedback practitioner tested my technics and
it was working. The only thing that's not so healthy about
my life is my sleep cycle. Because I travel across the
dayline every other month, I have a messed up sleep cycle.
Do you think that is causing me this? I don't know what I
can do about it as I cannot stop traveling for a reason. Is
there anything I can do besides taking EFA?

My life style is much healther than most people living in
the city environment already and everyone has stress, not
just me so I wonder why I am not any healther than most
people. Worrying about what food I can safely eat, reading
the label, and being obsessed about health itself maybe
unhealthy - it can be stressful without realizing it. I
know you have said "knowlege is power" but "knowing too
much can cause thinking too much all the time" that it can
interfere with your god-made natural defense/rejuvinating
system to do its work by just letting it be; eating what
you feel like eating or not eating when you don't want to
eat as your body is telling you to do so, etc. There are
too many things that we DON'T know why but there have been
cases of health issues that are unexplanable. We then
analyze them and come up with theories but it is only after
the fact. That kind of tells me that MAYBE we don't know
about our body as much as we THINK we do. I think Eastern
approach to health such as a concept of "Chi" in China or
"Ki" in Japan is a good example. What is your opinion about
that?

Why are you avoiding taking the EFA's ? EFA's made the single biggest impact on the improvement of my skin (and I tried everything before that). If you don't like the taste, buy it in capsule form. There are no guarantees of course, but I'm guessing you'll be amazed at what EFA's can do for your skin.(may take a month or 2)

I love and use Miracle II. It normalized your skin's ph and body if taken internally. I use it daily and never have any breakouts.

Thanks, Adult.

How long have you included your SR twice a day with the rest of your healthy lifestyle?

I do not think one can "know too much". There comes a time in the accumulation of knowledge when everything seems to just fall in place. From that time on everything is easier the more you learn.

Eastern approaches can be very effective when Western approaches have not worked. Of course the opposite is also true since we are not the "one size fits all" like the simplistic allopathic paradigm would like to force us to think.

Walt
