acne and accutane

Posted by Antoniett on June 15, 2000 at 23:48:32:

i was on accutane for five months last year and let me tell u my face completely cleared up. i was so happy and regained my self esteem and confidence. but when summer came of that year my acne slowly began to reappear ( i blamed it on the stress that i was having bc i was starting college that fall) but then ive noticed that i worsened over time. my dermo put me on pills that were not as strong but that did not seem to help. now i am starting another course of accutane which the doctor said should clear it once and for all. hopefully it does. i was so surprised that after taking accutane that my acne came back so quickly and so severe as before. hopefully this will be my last and final course with accutane. im dieing to regain my confidence and esteem back

Hi, Antoniett

It's good that you are starting a different approach to having clear skin.

If you click onto The Symptoms & Diseases Quick Reference Guide at top of this post, you'll be able to click onto Acne. Tht'll take you to the Glossary/Index as well as access to the Acne Summary.

This BB does not promote accutane, it promotes wellness. Please research the archives on acne and accutane. Accutane is NOT a permanent cure for acne, and it is a dangerous temporary fix at that. There is much to be learned here on this BB, all you have to do is take the time to read what is already here.

Chances are, if you do not change what you are doing, this course of accutane will be no more successful and/or long-lasting than the last one. I hope, also, that your doctor has you well informed about the risks of taking accutane. This is ANOTHER reason to read the archives here, you can hear first hand from others who have been where you are now. Don't forget to read about the possibility of PERMANENT hair loss!!!!

(I thought that might get your attention)

Paulette, she says she is starting another course of accutane (NMI)

Paulette (and all):

Just a gentle reminder to be loving not only to others but also to yourself.

We are all human. We all have misunderstandings and we all do things we later wish we had not said or done. Then it's time to be loving and forgiving of others and of ourselves. Remember that the biggest part of forgiveness is forgiving ourselves for reacting the way we did. And that forgiveness is by and large for OUR benefit, not for the benefit of the person we forgive.

Bashing others or ourselves helps no one.

Hope this helps!

Hi, RHJ++

Sorry if my reply was interpreted as bashing. Don't intentionally bash anyone. My apologies.

Hey RHJ, Hey Paulette,

I didn't mean to come across as bashing at all! I certainly hope you didn't take it that way, Paulette? I'd feel terrible if I hurt anyone's feelings.

Hi, KMD

Don't fret about it, you didn't. As I said, I'm having difficulty with my vision and in process of getting appointment with specialist.:-(

Hi Paulette,

I'm sorry, I thought you meant it as a joke when you said "I need to get my eyes examined!" Now I realize that you really do! Hope everything is OK with your eyes, I didn't realize...

Glad you and I didn't feel as though we were being bashed, as this was neither or our intentions.
