Diet to help acne

Posted by David Christopherson on April 11, 2001 at 01:07:41:

Hello Dr. Stoll. I have looked through the acne archive and I am going to try all three of the suggestions to help reduce acne ( stress relief, essential oils and Elimination Diet)
My only question is, what should my diet consist of? I am a healthy 19 year old 165lb.I read the article about only eating things such as turnips, peaches carrots, and fish etc. How will I know exactly what to eliminate. It seems like it should take a long time for my acne to go away to be able to know what foods I should eliminate. I guess a more clear question would be: Are there any general foods or additives and such that should be cut off in general to help with acne?
I'm trying to figure out where to start with my diet.
Thank you very much.
-David

Hi, David.

I would atart by eliminating ALL refined foods (Reference: Beth's book); see the search engine.

Next, I would eliminate things that you have noticed make the problem worse in YOU. This will not be true for everyone.

Finally, as you get well, you will find that your LGS will also improve and those foods that used to trigger attacks will no longer do so (about 6 months).

Let us know how you do.

Walt
