I have had mild acne for the past 10 years. It strted at about age 15. The other day I went to see a dermatologist, to get some sort of medication. He told me my options. One of tem being accutane, he explained the drug and told me it was basically a cure for acne. WOW I thought to myself i never realized a drug existed. i told the doctor i never heard about it. he explaine the side effects. some dry skin and other things, apparently temporary. he prescribed it to me, i did not go running to the pharmacy buying the drug but have decided to do some research. the dermatologist spent a total of 8-10 minutes with me. i feel lost, and the information and articles describing accutane don't seem all that enticing? are there other natural methods to improve and control acne. I do not have severe acne, but lately i have had 4-5 pimples that really urt and the rest of my acne is from whtiteheads and black heads...are traditonal methods for acne.....PLEASE HELP

Since the specific answers to your questions have been discussed on this BB for years, I hope you will save me the typing by going to the archives & reading as much as you can find about acne, accutane & accutane side effects.
For you to have this kind of endocrinological imbalance when you are no longer pubertal, sends a definite message that you will--eventually--have to hear.
