Thoroughly lost in Acne and Accutane archives :)

I want to start by saying what a blessing it has been to find this website today! I have been looking for some real information on Accutane, which I am sorry to say I have completed a five month cycle of.

In the past year I have become aware of the true money-hungry drug-pushing attitude of most medical proffessionals; unlike the fine Dr. Stoll who I have read about here. I can see that this site has a wealth of helpful information and I look forward to utilizing it.

The question that brought me here is regarding the safety of becoming pregnant after Accutane treatment. I finished the treatment six months ago and no longer expierience any of the side effects of the drug that I did during treatment. However, I am unclear on how my skin can remain clear with out any of the other of the drug's effects persisting. My guess is that there are other effects that I am not aware of.

In resonse to similar questions posted here I see the response has been to read the archives. The archives, however, contain many many postings. All of them that I have come to so far have had the same response to refer to the archives. I am hoping that someone might direct me to a specific posting that would be helpful to my situation.

Also, if it happens that Dr. Stoll can respond to my post:
I believe that my acne was caused by hormones, as it became severe during my pregnancy and nursing. I know that your advice is for a whole foods diet, Skilled Relaxation, and exercise; can these provide a solution even for acne brought about by pregnancy and nursing hormones? If so, Is there an article explaining how hormones are affected by these things?

I appreciate any advice on this matter or anybody's expierience who has had children after Accutane treatment. Thanks a lot. -Brooke

Hi, Brooke - I have found that one of the best ways for someone new to this Board to find information is to first go to the Glossary. I have put below a link to the Glossary.
From there you look at "Accutane" and you will see Q & A from Dr. Stoll and others on this subject. You can choose what you want to read. Good luck! Raisa

Thanks, Brooke.

The answer to your specific question is yes and that same wellness will also produce a safer and more perfect pregnancy (See Dr Airola's "Every Woman's Book".)!

I have done my best not to archive anything that does not add something new to the store of information. I know that the archives are not perfect but they are the best I can do with no help or any money to do it. The individual just has to wade through it to get what will be of the most good to that individual.

If you have any good suggestions, I am open to hearing them. I already put myself into the hospital once, trying to keep up with this website. I hope I have learned my lesson.

Hope this helps.

Walt

Sincere thanks to Dr Stoll
