acne solution worked great for me!!!!!

Hi,
I have had some very bad acne for over a year.It was the kind that if you tried to squeeze it it got like a small cyst and had a small scab that seemed to be half inside and out.Tried pro active and it didn't work at all.I tried many different things.I stopped taking ortho tri cyclen and it got worse.I was so embarrassed that I didn't want to leave the house.I was fighting all the time with my fiancee because he was starting to look at other women.but now I have my first baby and am married, and I look great in my pictures.I will tell you my secret but first know that it can get worse before getting better. Now only sometimes I do get a small pimple, but my skin now looks excellent.
okay here is the skin plan that I used:ingredients
1 egg,1/2 cup of half and half or milk,1 cup flour, fresh lemon or lime juice or both 3tbs distilled vineger, sprinkle salt pepper turmeric powder,4tbs yeast, capful of rubbing alcohol,1 capful of witch hazel,if possible use also half cup wheat germ.mix together well and apply with whatever is useful to your face.Let it dry foran hour or more and remove with warm water and washcloth.it can sting a little but it works.use it every day for a week, then switch to 3 days out of the next 3 weeks then to 1 time a week after that. While you use the mask always use anti bacterial soap once a day.I used the orange suave bar soap and zest.and after your acne is pretty much cleared up you should use biore 2 times a week and once in a while use queen helena's mint julep mask.It may even take up to 3 months to clear up,but it does clear up rather nicely. And every day put 2 in 1 astringent on your face.noxzema is goodto.apply face lotion 1nce a day to.something that doesnt have mineral oil
and is non comedigenic(wont clog pores)good luck!!!!!!!!

Good work Laura! I am very happy to hear of your success. :)

For others, this much work may not be necessary. The egg yolk by itself works very well as an acne mask and can be removed in about ten minutes. Head and Shoulders shampoo is an excellent face wash for acne and Witch Hazel is an inexpensive readily available toner.

take care,

amaryllis

P.S. Here's some info on the egg yolk mask:

This is the Ann Landers column from 12/01/92:

Dear Ann Landers: In 1969, I started my first year as a university student. Soon after, I developed a severe case of acne, and I am sure stress had a lot to do with it. I went to three doctors and spent hundreds of dollars on medicine that did not work.

The summer of 1970, I went to lunch with a friend at the World Bank in Washington, D.C., and while in the ladies' room, a beautiful East Indian woman wearing a sari gave me a smile. When I responded, she touched my face and said, "Oh, no. Red ugly spots on pretty face. You fix with egg yolk." I said, "Are you serious? Do you think it would really help?"

She replied, "Yes, you put raw egg yolk on face and let dry for 10 minutes, then wash off. Do every day for one month and spots go away. You do again two times in every month for three months and again if trouble starts."

I was unconvinced but thanked her anyway. That night I decided I had very little to lose since the acne was terrible and nothing else had worked. Well, Ann, that woman knew what she was talking about. Since then, I've told several friends about the egg-yolk cure and the success rate has been phenomenal. Please tell your readers. They'll be forever grateful.

SILKY SKIN IN WASHINGTON

Ann Landers' reply:

I faxed your letter to Dr. Mary Ellen Brademas, a superb dermatologist in New York, and this is her response:

For many years, topical applications of Vitamin A have been prescribed by physicians as a treatment for acne. Because egg yolks are an excellent source of Vitamin A, it is not surprising that raw egg yolks improve acne lesions. It is interesting that the writer's lesions appeared after periods of stress. Stress can make acne worse and can also worsen other conditions such as ulcers and psoriasis.

In any case, sometimes there is a simple scientific basis for success in home remedies.

I did a little research, and I think you'll be interested to see what I've found:

Egg yolks are one of the richest sources of vitamin A on the planet. Vitamin A is composed of many different chemical forms which are collectively known as retinoids.

All-trans-retinoic acid (AKA Retin-A), is one of them. It is mainly used in regulating the amount of skin cells produced and skin cell shedding. This is good for acne because it keeps your pores from clogging up.

13-cis-retinol is another. After many chemical reactions within the body, this compound is transformed into 13-cis-retinoic acid, which is Accutane. (Wierd, huh? Your body produces Accutane naturally from Vitamin A....) Anyhow, this compound has 3 main functions in stopping acne:

1) regulation of skin cell production
2) inhibition of oil production
3) inhibition of Propionibacterium acnes, the bacteria that causes acne.

As an aside, I discovered that the reason you can't get your Accutane pills too hot or exposed to too much light is because the compound 13-cis-retinoic acid is very unstable as it is produced within your body under very specific conditions, so the synthetic form just doesn't keep well.

Now, the fact that it inhibits oil production is just one clearly stated fact that I have come across many times.

In scientific analyses of egg yolks, it was discovered that the yolks contain 13-cis-retinol, which could either be converted into the 13-cis-retinoic acid in the skin, or the 13-cis-retinoic acid is already present in the egg yolk. It is also possible that there are other, yet-to-be discovered retinoids present in the egg yolks that could be beneficial for the skin.

So putting egg yolk on your skin is kind of like putting a cocktail of Retin A and Accutane right on your face! It is also possible that eating egg yolks could be beneficial for treating acne. Of course, scientific studies of egg yolks and their affect on acne has not been undertaken, and probably never will, because who would fund something like that when no one is going to make any money out of it???? So we may never have scientific proof that egg yolks can help treat acne but at least there is sound scientific theory there.

My sources are:
http://www.netbrain.com/~brain/acne.html (written by a guy with a PhD in Chemistry)
http://pharmwww.biol.sc.edu/classes/500/505docs/vitaret.htm (the College of Pharmacology of the University of South Carolina)

I found this information and tried to put it here for everyone's benefit.

Thanks, Laura.

I would be interested in hearing anyone else's experience with this approach (good or bad).

Walt
