Bob, What is the pepto-bismol test? What is the elimination diet? I have AS and have been miserable. I no longer take and drugs except asprin or tylenol and exercise to attempt to maintain my mobility. Lately, I have been in a great deal of pain and feel I have come to a wall of no hope in finding a level of comfort.

Hi, Robin.
Once damage is done, in most any chronic degenerative condition, many times that damage cannot be reversed. HOWEVER, at least the active process can be reversed by getting at the known causitive mechanisms. At the very least, more damage does not occur.
Once that is done, everyone improves but, depending on how much damage has already been done, there will likely be some residual.
What do you have to lose by trying? NONE of the things that reverse the causes of ankylosing spondylitis can possibly harm anyone and most of them have very positive side effects.
THEN, as you improve, I hope you will take the time to share your experiences with the BB participants so you can help others not have to suffer as you have.
Walt
