small round lump on base of my neck under my skin

I have a small round lump on the trunk of my neck right below my head. I frequently get very bad headaches. I notice when the headaches come on that the lump is tender, enlarged and it tends to itch.

I suspect that the lump may in fact have something to do with my headaches but I am not sure.

I have seen a doctor and I was told me it was a muscle knot but I have had this lump for about 10 years now so I am not sure that their diagnosis is correct.

The lump has not changed in size or shape over the past ten years so I have not pushed the issue. I would like to be free of the headaches though.

Hi, S.

This "frog" is definitely related to your muscle tension headaches. You doc is right in that it is a "muscle knot". We always used to call these "frogs" when I was a kid.

This is the result of advanced "bracing" and you can get rid of it by the options in the bracing archives. See the headache archives as well.

Let us know what you learn and how you do.

Walt
