Bracing progress--Happygal

I wanted to say thanks to you, Jan, for the little tip you offered awhile ago,
about bracing. You mentioned that you were working on becoming conscious
of where the bracing is in your body at any given time, & then releasing it, as
you go through your day.

I can't tell you how much this habit has been helping me. It helps me fall
asleep, helps me fall back to sleep if I am awakened. It helps me recover from
intense exercise, and restores my equilibrium if I get upset. Though the
releasing of tension is the key to success in this type of awareness, there's
also something about returning to the body & getting out of one's head that
is also essential in reducing anxiety & stress. It can be a meditation all on its
own, every time. I was surprised at the effectiveness of this technique in
returning to sleep if I'm awakened. Simply taking my mind away from busy
thoughts & focusing on my body works wonders.

I wanted to give you this feedback because that one concept you offered here
has made a real impact on my well-being. Expressing gratitude is equally
important to what I learned about bracing. Thanks, Jan.

Wow, Mary.

I'm glad that you are doing so well with this practice. It sounds like it's really doing a lot for you! Congratulations!

If it's okay with you, I'd like to copy your message. I have just started a simple discussion board for health topics on my website, and I think it will be helpful to post your testimonial there for others to read, too. I have explained self-awareness in an article on my website. What you have described so beautifully reflects the importance and usefulness of this practice.

Thanks for your feedback! I'm glad to hear that you are doing better.

Best wishes,
Jan

Sure, Jan, you're welcome to use the post on your website, which, by the way,
looks terrific.
