I believe the term "whole foods" refers to un-processed vs. processed foods. An example would be, oh, corn-on-the-cob as opposed to corn bread.
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong...

You can find that in the Articles on Health Topics section of this website - look at the top right hand corner of the bulletin board.

That explains the idea.

Good luck!

Dear Mr. Wade.

Any healthfood store would have MANY books explaining what a "wholefoods diet" is.

Basically, a peeled potato has had its micronutrients removed and so is "refined". Eating the whole potato is eating a whole food. Whole grains have all the micronutrients in them whereas grains with the "peeling" removed do not.

Look at the article on the homepage of this 'site and read about "Sugar vs Refined CHO".

I know of no fruits that can be eaten while the person is trying to eliminate refined carbohydrate "triggering". I do not believe eating the orange peeling is recommended by anyone.

The best reference I know of to tell the difference between refined foods & whole foods is Beth Loiselle, RD's classic "The Healing Power of Whole Foods". Call (800) 870-5368.

Walt
