I was wondering if anyone has has an experience with wearing magnets for joint pain. I see that a lot of golfers are wearing them. Before I open up my box of them which cost $39, I thought I'd check here first! Thanks.

Hi, Susan.

Magnets, used as directed, can be almost miraculously effective. Used as directed I have seen no one damaged by them. Professional athletes frequently are the "canaries in the coalmine" for new approaches to musculoskeletal conditions. After all, their livlihood depends on getting back to playing. You would get an earful by talking to one of them about this.

Those in the know tell the rest of us that the next century will be dubbed the century of "Vibrational Medicine". See Richard Gerber, MD's book by that name.

Let us know what you learn.

They seem to help...but only as long as you keep using them..the pain seems to come back after disuse...I dont think they really cure whatever is causing the pain...Sort of like taking an aspirin for a headache..

I sleep on a magnetic mattress, and until you try one, you'll never know what you're missing. I used to sell the Nikken brand which started me off on my "health nut" kick,
and from what I learned they still have the best product line available, although for a price. They certainly can't hurt you and I have seen miraculous results with the magnetic pads worn on traumatized areas. Like Walt says, if the pros are using them, they must know something most people don't!
There is a shortwave program telling the virtues of magnets and, of course, promoting their line of product. I don't remember exactly when it comes on but you could find it on
www.wwcr.com and go to their program schedule to find the "lyons magnetic hour".

Good luck, Dave

I agree, Adam.

The effectiveness of electromagnetic medicine does not obviate the need for dealing with the causes. None of these chronic conditions are likely "deficiencies of magnitism" (grin).

However, relief is likely less risky, over the long haul, when using magnets as opposed to NSAIDS.

Yes, I have been reading about magnets after doing a search. I was very curious about the mattress and/or mattress pad with magnets. I was wondering if it really gave you a better night's sleep. That would be great for arthritis and fibromialgia sufferers! I wore my knee band for two days so far. The first day seemed to make a difference. Today was not as good, but I think I was wearing them differently. They don't seem to have a lot of strength. Do you think the brand makes a difference? How do you tell how strong the force should be?

Hi, Susan.

Research has shown that the weaker strengths are more effective than the stronger ones. This is because they are a lot closer to what the bodymind produces naturally for running the body.

Unfortunately, in the western philosophy, we are used to forcing things to happen (rather than letting them happen). SO, we tend to buy the stronger ones. That is the main reason manufacturers even make them----not because they are better but that they sell better to those humans with the most money (Americans).

These guys have done the initial research. Listen to them. They are interested in results too. It is just that they have to live in the business world too. The more you know about magnets, the more likely you will be able to overcome our western bias & use the ones best suited for the results you want.

Let us know what you learn.

Good question.

I have been using the mattress pad for about 4 months. I purchased it from a company called Nikken. At first I felt I would never get used to it. I actually felt like it made me to "energized" and felt like I had trouble sleeping. However, my body has finally become acclimated and I will not sleep without it. My energy level in the morning has increased dramatically. My pain and stiffness still exist but not at the level prior to the magnet mattress pad. I have been told that each person will adjust different to magnetic therapy based on the illness and their body so don't expect your results to be the same as anyone elses. I also use a magnetic pillow.

In January, I had very serious battle with puenmonia. My friend, (a Nikken consultant) taped magnets on my lung area. I thought she was absolut
