foot fungus, vinegar, peroxide, how it works

Dear Dr. Stoll,

Is peroxide as good as vinegar for foot fungus?

If the fungus grows under the nail, how can putting vinegar
on top of the nail prevent its growth?

I assume I should push the cuticle back on the toe. Right? You don't say a word about that.

By the way, if I go into "foot fungus" I am not offered this message posting option. What gives. Your instructions are not very clear.

What's this Optional Link URL?

Grapefruit seed extract (Citricidex) is one of the most effective remedies.
rub it on pure, and let it soak. cover it with a gauze leaving it on all day.
in few days, weeks at the most, you should notice a big improvement .
no fungus can thrive with GSE present.

Have you had success with grapeseed extract? I have been on the vinegar routine for the better part of a year with no luck. I have not missed an application and followed the protocol to a tee. I'm sure it works for some but not for me. Also, I know because the nails grow slowly that seeing a difference in a couple weeks is not possible.

Hi James,

You put the vinagar on the cuticle area. Theory is that is finds its was down under (seeps through tiny openings) and promotes the new growth to be fungus free. I don't think I have heard that the cuticle needs to be pushed back. I haven't looked it up in the Doc's book in a while though. I am not sure where on the site you looked for info. Try the link below just in case you missed it.

Others on the board have suggested using such diverse things as tea tree oil, vic's vapo rub, and campofonique (sp!)

BTW, not a good idea to put so much personal info up on the internet.

Good Luck,

Sounder

James,

If I understand your posting questions correctly they are ones that will have to be addressed to the webmaster at

I have no experience with peroxide for this. I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has.

This question about where to put the vinegar and why has been discussed so many times that I archived it. It is my experience that people are a lot more likely to actually do something IF they understand why. The cuticle (same answer--foggedaboudit).

Thanks, Doc Ricky.

I, too, would be interested in hearing about a remedy with which results can be seen within a couple of weeks.

Dave,

I read the website and modified the approach. I filled a foot long tupperware container with about a 1/2 inch of vinegar and soak the full foot for about 5 minutes every evening. This seems to work for me and I've started seeing results.
