Dr. Stoll,
I suffer from excessive sweating which i think is linked to my tinea. Im currently on the 4 week treatment but during some of the nights i may go out with friends to a club. This involves dancing resulting in a lot of sweat in my case. Will this affect my treatment? When i get back home should i take a shower and then apply the nizoral shampoo (im using nizoral because selsun blue burns my skin)? Or can i just apply the nizoral without washing and then take a shower the follwing morning ? Two more quick questions, what happens if i miss a day or two of treatment during the 4 weeks? And can i still drink alcohol?

Jimi,
Remember that moisture plus dead skin cells is the perfect combination for the fungus to grow.
SO, when you come home all sweaty, taking a shower, buffing the skin while washing and while drying, then applying the nizoral cream sparingly after you are really dry, is what I would do.
Alcohol, just like all sugars, helps feed the fungus while reducing your immunity.

I had a bad case of Tinea - I got rid of it in about one month, by following absolutely STRICT rules: Always showing after sweating, buffing, applying Nizoral daily, cutting out ALL sugars (e.g. white bread, soda, pastas, etc, etc.) - However, being a university student, I did get drunk occaisionally - When doing so, I would drink Gin (since it has the least amount of sugar for any type of booze) - After all, we're only human....
Follow the anti-sugar rules, keep buffing, apply nizoral, and you'll have no worries... I got a nice tan that summer.
Good Luck!!!
