Fingernail Fungus

It is with pleasure that I share this with you all since it was here, in this forum, that I became convinced to try VINEGAR...It really worked!

After injuring the middle finger of my left hand rock-climbing, a fungal infection set in and half the nail separated from its bed. At first I didn't know exactly what it was but, as the adjacent index finger and thumbnail also began to appear infected, and look awful, I began searching for a cure.

My doctor had already counselled against the (expensive) Lamisil tablets as they carry a risk of damage to the liver. He recommended, without much hope, that I try Lamisil cream. Well, I did, without results...and tried also bad-smelling Fungi-Cure, equally without results, for almost a year.

Then I found this website, and others, recommending good old vinegar, and decided to give it a try as I had nothing to lose by then.

What I did is this: I emptied the Fungi-Cure bottle (it has a handy brush!), washed it and the brush well and filled it with vinegar. On July 16, 2006 I began applying drops to the affected nails twice a day, allowing the vinegar to sit and dry on each nail. I did this about every 12 hours. I also made sure vinegar got underneath the nails as well, with the brush - I didn't cut them too short so I'd have a small well for the vinegar.

Well, it's now December and I'm happy to say the nails are looking fine, have re-attached, are pink and growing well, CURED!!! I'll continue the treatment a little longer for good measure, but I did not want to wait any longer to pass this along. Patience and perseverance is required but once you begin to see results, you'll have no trouble keeping it up. Good luck!

And I thank this website for all the good advice. Not in a million years would I have known about such a simple and effective remedy.

That's wonderful! I'll have to pass that information along to my grandmother!

I had it in both my fingers and toe nails and I cured it up with vinegar but I still use it just two drops morning and night, I don't want to get it back again. No problem with me and I have clear nails I believe it came from fingernail polish that was not sealed!
