Dear Dr Stoll,
A close friend (a 34 yr old otherwise fit firefighter) has just been diagnosed with viral myocarditis due to the coxsackievirus, it has affected his left ventrical particularly reducing his ejection factor to approx. 30%, also he has some ECG abnormalities... he has been prescribed Ramipril & Toprol xl. We would appreciate any advice to aid his recovery..
ps: I have advised him of your guide to wellness ie: whole foods diet, exercise, meditation & positive attitude......
thank you so much...

Hi, Nikki.

Fortunately, if he survives the acute infestation (very likely), he will not very likely progress to the chronic condition that could damage his heart. You are right in advising him about the wellness since that is his best chance to not have any residual.

Also, taking at least 100 milligrams of CoEnzyme Q10 twice a day will help him a lot right now. No risk--only benefits that will amaze his doc who has not recommended it!

The only leg of the stool he will have to delay is the exercise since his ejection fraction is so reduced.

Let us know how he does.

Walt
