Hi All, I took Al (my husband) to the West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh,Pa. They specialize in liver problems. He has Cirrhosis of the Liver. He is really sick and I am totally devastated! I fear they can't save him ! I will stay at the hospital with him b/c I can't sleep or eat, when I'm home. He is all I have. Keep me in your prayers, that God will undertake for him. He is such a wonderful person.
Love Shirley

Hello Shirley,
You should not have posted as OT. This is a health problem and that is what this BB is all about.
Now then, I am thinking of you and your hubby and wishing him well. I will pray for him every day.
Please remember that you have friends here who you can turn to if you need anyone. Please do post to us. We will be here waiting.
Much love and hugs galore. I am thinking of you.
Come back and talk to us soon.
Love Maz

How very terrible, Shirley. We will all send positive vibes in Al's direction and pray for his speedy recovery. Did the doctors determine what caused the cirrhosis?

What did the doctors tell you?

Shirley,
I had looked the other day to see if you had re-posted. So I'm glad that you are keeping up with all of us. Do you have a laptop by any chance so that you can post from the hospital?
We sure will pray for both of you here. I was just checked for that myself so I know just a little bit of what you are going through. I wish we were there so we could come & sit with you in the lobby. (((Hugs)))
My husband and I only have each other. I have no parents any more and no brothers & sisters, no children. So I get scared sometimes, too. I know he will appreciate you being there at the hospital, but also take care of yourself at the same time.
I hope you will let us know anything and everything they tell you.

Shirley,
Since alcohol is not the cause, the true cause MUST be determined. Since this DEFINITELY is not a strength of the allopathic monopoly, I would suggest having a good clinical ecologist in consultation ASAP! In the meantime see the liver archives for harmless supplements for improving liver metabolism, especially CoQ10 (300 milligrams twice a day), Alpha lipoic acid (600 milligrams twice a day), milk thistle, etc. His docs will be amazed when he begins to improve--they might even learn something.
Let us know how he does and what you learn.

Yes he was checked for Hepatitis C and did not have it. They don't know what caused it!

Shirley,
Go to the CE archives for the reference as to how to find one in your area.

Shirley, I'm glad to hear your husband's crisis has passed. I'm wondering, since they don't know what caused it, sometimes if it is a drug side-effect, they are reluctant to expose that. Was your husband on a liver affecting drug if you don't mind saying.
