So I was just doing some searching on leaky gut online, and happened to find this recent post on curezone.org:
"What everybody has to know that diet is not the answer.I will try to explain as clearly as I can.You can change your diet all you want but if you dont fix the problem you will not have success. Why do you think all your friends can eat and drink what ever they want. There insides are so strong that nothing penetrates it.people with health problems have leaky gut,but the problem is nobody knows the proper way to fix it.here is how you fix it take 75 mg of zinc carnosine 10 mg of biotin and 2000 to 10000 of msm and within one month your leaky gut will be cured and your exzema will be gone without changing your eating habits....Good luck"
This will supposedly completely and permanently cure leaky gut syndrome which will, in turn, cure eczema, seborrheic dermatitis, and all other maladies associated with LGS."
"I've had Seborrheic Dermatitis for close to 30yrs. I've tried some of everything, I've found a few things over the years, that helped, but nothing that would get rid of it for good, until now. I ran across this post a few months ago, but just decided about a month ago to give it a try, and thank God I did, it's only been about 10days, and my Seborrheic is about 90% gone. I guess I'll know if I'm truly cured, once I stop taking these vitamins, but the best thing about this program, is I could take these vitamins for the rest of my life, and it wouldn't be a problem. I get my vitamins from vitacost online but I'm sure you could get them at any health food store. I take Jarrow Formulas Pepzin GI 75mg, NSI Biotin 10mg, and NSI MSM 8,000mg. By the way, the above post was written for people with eczema, but again it's working for my Seborrheic."
Here's a link to one Pepzin GI product, it provides a good description of how it works in the gut:

So what do you guys/Walt think? I have read before about ZINC being especially important but used it only once and didn't get much results.. I suspect I was not absorbing it well (obviously, right, because of the LGS?!) I know zinc is especially good for skin issues which I have a lot of (eczema, hair loss) so I think this may help me. I am thinking of trying this zinc-carnosine (trademarked Pepzin GI) though, along with INTESTIVE (SeaCure + Casein-Free Colostrum) which I just bought and maybe PERMAVITE or is that too much to try all at once? Of course coupled with SR, exercise, and a good diet, this may just be the ultimate therapy to nip LGS in the bud. Also, I need to start doing my SR consistently again, but am finding it hard to get into alpha/theta. Walt, I know you recommend doing 1 session in the morning after waking up, but I can NEVER get into the relaxation response (RR) then! However, I started doing yoga from a DVD in the evenings and experienced a RR-like feeling which was great. I posted the link below in case you all want to check it out. It has over 200 positive reviews and is the #1 selling yoga DVD on Amazon.
Sorry my post is so convoluted, but I am actually excited now (not feeling as suicidal, so that's a good thing)! I HATE being surrounded by normal people who don't have these problems, so anything that will make me more normal is exciting to me!
Just wanted all your opinions though before I proceed.

I recently felt rotten after taking one capsule of (chelated) 50mg of zinc as zinc gluconate. I'm only guessing but I think the zinc affected my blood glucose level. Mike-S

I've taken her workshops! She is awesome - but she does a more "pop" version - look into a lot of the kundalini folks... there is one - forget her name..look up...Golden Gate Yoga I think it is...she is AMAZING.
You can't go wrong with Kundalini yoga - it is VERY different than Ashtanga but at my studio I taught one Kundalini class. Be aware that emotions will be really opened in this class. More than ANY other yoga. It really opens those chakras.
What kind of zinc - any kind? Like, a regular zinc lozenge? (for leaky gut)

Your post was kinda hard to understand.. so you've done Ana Brett and Ravi Singh's workshop? I've heard they are really good. The DVDs seem to be an excellent substitute as well.
In my post I said it is zinc carnosine (trademarked Pepzin GI). So, no a simple lozenge would not do it. I already tried that route a long time ago.

Thanks, BB.
There are many different things that can help LGS for different people. I would be interested in hearing from anyone who does this who are improved after 6 months.
The approach I have been recommending in this BB is designed to be the most likely effective, least expensive and % wise, the best long term method of getting control of this problem without risk of negative side effects.
Hope this helps.

Walt, I've since looked up "zinc carnosine" + "leaky gut" on the internet and there are some scientific articles saying that it blocks the initiation of LGS.. I'll post the link below so you can assess its validity. I've also read that it is being marketed and been used in Japan for a while for peptic ulcers. So that made me think of something, do people with peptic ulcers automatically have LGS? I've always wondered if I have ulcers. This has always confused me since I know people who "get ulcers" and then take a drug and then say they're fine? How is this possible if it was leaky gut?
So just to make sure, since I am sorta confused after reading curezone.org, I should first concentrate on getting rid of LGS, THEN fight off parasites and candida which may be in my system?? Curezone seems to do the opposite (kill the bugs first) but then again they are really focused on doing those flushes and cleanses all the time. And your order makes sense, because if you don't first get rid of LGS, the nasty critters will come back again since the gut is still leaky. So what I'm going to do is the zinc-carnosine, MSM, and biotin, and Intestive, and take Primal Defense (which I have NEVER gotten any visible results from, but continue to take anyway). I also will need to do SR and continue exercising. I think the main reason I can't get into the alpha-theta lately is because of school. I seem to be in beta all the time since I have tests constantly (3 per week!) and they are difficult! It's hard to be getting your doctorate and doing all this at the same time. Do you think lots of exercise instead would help? Or do you really have to be in alpha 2x a day? I can do the exercise, actually I like doing that better since I can work out the stress and constant headwork from school. When I try doing SR, I just start thinking about things I need to do for school.. :(
Thanks again Walt, you are great!

yes, I've been to a few of Ana and Ravi's workshops.
Drat about the zinc.

Thanks, BB.
I think you have a pretty good idea what is going on.
I have no problem with people who want to take specific things that will help second level diagnoses so long as they realize that the LGS is a first level problem that eventually will produce (genetically determined) a myriad of second level conditions.
You will see many different second level remnedies because, in my opinion, they have the effect of helping a certain % of sufferers in a relatively short period of time. There will always be people willing to sell those remedies since they are a ready source of income. There is an endless number of them and thus an endless number of opportunities for promotion. So long as the individual will take the time to understand the progression, and keep learning how to attack the first level cause--while they are taking the second level stuff for quicker (albeit temporary) results--I am all in favor.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Walt.. now if I could only get into alpha!
So I read in the archives where you said that only a few seconds under alpha is needed. I was under the impression that you were supposed to spend almost all 40 minutes in alpha. So you are saying a few minutes is okay? If so, that may be more feasible for me. Right now I'm only doing a few seconds (as far as I can tell - it's a weird feeling where my body and mind sorta become one - that's the only way I can describe it - does this sound like it?) Like my mind sorta melds into my body. I noticed that I get it after I start daydreaming (getting pictures in my head) and only then does it come.
Also, did you look at the article about zinc carnosine? If it helps ulcers, it should be able to help LGS, right? Also, what are ulcers in relation to LGS? That has been confusing me for a while.

I always go back to something Walt said to me years ago - it's not what you take, it's what you DO.

True.. so have you cured your LGS?
I am "doing" a lot, but have yet to cure mine. I do think that the stress has a lot to do with it. I think my stress is impeding a recovery but I don't know how to deal with it. I can't even get into alpha these days. And my gut area is always tight. No wonder I have LGS.

Thanks, BB.
Obviously, the more minutes of alpha the better. I have just posted what, in my experience, is the least that will eventually get results in a chronic stress-related condition.
Zinc has been known for ages to help GI lining problems in some people. Trial and error is the only way I know to see if you are one of those people.
