Hi, Dr. Stoll.
I've been keeping up with your articles and comments for quite some time and have always found them interesting and enlightening.
I thought you might find this site interesting: http://www.nursing.wright.edu/practice/mvp/
Go down to the heading "Mitral VALVE PROLAPSE SYNDROME". Notice that this doctor says "Thus, the symptoms associated with MVPS are not due to the valve itself."
This interpretation doesn't match precisely with yours, as (to the best of my knowledge) your theory is that the myriad of symptoms are due to body-mind disturbances (stress in the hypothalamus, mostly), whereas this doctor seems to think it's more purely physiological...but it's interesting to hear someone say what you have been trying to get through for some time.
I always wondered how traditional explanations were supposed to convince us that MVP could somehow logically cause cold feet and hands, panic attacks, etc. Under your theory those symptoms become understandable.
Is the "prolapse" of the mitral valve a normal variation in the human population in your opinion--in other words not harmful?
Thank you.

In response to your final question: YES!
