Tea Tree Oil and Pilonidal Cysts

Posted by Mark on November 11, 1999 at 14:30:09:

Dr Stoll,

I have been reading your posts and came across a new
cure/prevention for Pilonidals. My question is how is this
product supposed to be used. Use daily? Use when infection
is noticed? Any help on the subject would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, Mark.

I am not the expert in this. I am waiting for testimonials from those who havce used it.

Note the name of the person who has most commonly mentioned this and contact her directly.

Let us know what you learn and how you do if you try it.

Walt

A few weeks have passed. I have 'blitzed' my cyst with everything I have read about on this bulletin board: esterized vitamin C, zinc tablets and tea tree oil. I have had no discharge/bleeding for about a month now. My fiancee tells me that it has healed over (when she first looked it was 'open') and that it now looks like a small purple area. I am wondering what this purple coloration could be - any ideas anyone? Is this something that could be called 'normal' and do I need to do anything else preventative?

Thanks!

Thanks, Mark!

Testimonials like this are very encouraging. I hope to hear from others since I have no experience with resolving this acute condition with anything less than surgery.

The discoloration under the skin is just evidence that you still have the genetic problem.

In MY experience, once there has been even one flareup, the only recourse is surgery and the 50% success rate.

It is possible that you can now help prevent further flareups by doing what one can do with a "virgin" (before the first flareup) condition. This is described under the link below for those who should have been told about this as children.

Let us know how you do.

Walt
