Pilonidal cysts, is there no end?

Ok, i'm 16 yr. old white male who has had a pilonidal cyst for a long time... I'm not sure when i got it but it was when my tail bone recieved a lot of trauma. Ok so I went and had it checked out about when I was 15 or so or maybe 14, i can't remember. So I went in and had surgery. He closed the hole up right away. Now i heard that this was not good...but anyhow i went for along time and everthing was a.o.k. Until it came back!!!!!! This time it had caused and infection which he just took a knife and cut open the cyst and found a hole about the size of a golf ball. And now(about six months later i'm going to have another checkup to see what's wrong because it never healed. My hole/cyst was stuffed once a day after a warm 30 min. bath. And the hole kept getting smaller and smaller until you couldn't put gaws in it anymore. So I was happy but then there about a 3 month period where the small, almost needle like hole just didn't want to heal up. And just tonight when I found this site It ruptured in the shower because I picked it because it was infected...I think(because that's what it did last time) and now I don't know what to do. I'm going back to my doctor to get it checked out in a couple of days. But is there no end to which this will heal? How do I get rid of IT? Why doesn't it just "heal up?" I would love to have some replies on this. and yes I have read about a million post of people with the same problems. It's nice to know there's others out there suffering from the same things you are. :) Josh
