pilonidal sinus

Hello, thanks for taking time to read my message.

I have just recovered from a pilonidal sinus, it healed up after a year thanks to The Wound Healing Research Centre in Wales, Great Britain.

I read somewhere on the internet that the only reason any pilonidal sinus wound takes longer than 2-3 months to heal is because it doesn't receive the right treatment. This was definately true in my case.

I need to know where I read that as I am embarking on a court case relating to my pilonidal sinus disease and this is a crucial bit of eveidence. If you have any idea where I read that I would be very grateful if you would let me know. It may even have been a quote from Dr. Stoll himself!

Thanking you in anticipation,
Jo Southall, Great Britain

Great you're taking such an active role in researching this disease.

What is considered inadequate ("right") treatment exactly? I can't heal up from mine, it's been since October 2000. (Read my post from yesterday if needed). To me, I've done it all, at least from my understanding. I'm still ready and willing to try new things in order to heal this open wound I have from my last pilonidal surgery.

At this point, something else I think is going on. I don't think treatment or wound maintenance is directly related to my getting better. I think it has a lot to do with it, but I think there are other things that need to take priority too. Some other deficiency might be taking place. Hmmm....

That wound research healing center in GB sounds interesting....have a web site?

Thanks, Ryan

If there were only an answer...not in this case

Thanks, Jo.

Congratulations on your current progress.

ALL "wound healing centers" are pretty good at applying the principles we all learn in medical school. I am as certain as I am sitting here that there was nothing magic that they did to "cure this"'.

I will be interested in hearing how you are doing in a few years.

I really do not want to discourage you but just to be realistic. The cure rate nature of the pilonidal problem has nothing to DO with wound healing or surgical technique.

Walt
