Centerpointe...

Posted by SR-newbie on December 22, 2002 at 20:50:00:

..has proven useless for me. I have used it for about a year now and have seen no results at all. A friend of mine said that he actually seemed to become dumber than before when on the program.
All the positive reports are probably just placebo-induced. It's all a scam. Stay away!

It's dangerous to piss in the wind. There are a lot of people who have seen benefit from Centerpointe, you're just not one of them.

I think it's crap too. I got more benefit from Brainsync.

it's been great for me and i've tried many kinds of sr. none of them worked as well as centerpointe. but if it hasn't worked for you, why don't you ask for a refund? anytime i've contacted them with a problem, they remedy it that day.
good luck and i hope you find something that works for you.

I had a friend analyze the tapes with a spectrometer and there were no frequencies of the type they say should be on the tracks. I think it is all a scam too. It's the rain and the bells, that's all. And they charge twice the price of something that actually does work like Kelly Howell's stuff.

I tried Kelly Howell's CD's. "Pablum Lite" I call them. I have had many "hemisync" sound tracks, and have recorded my own using Cool Edit Pro, Photosonix
Light & Sound Designer, and even custom ultrasonics using fairly esoteric sound equipment. Howell's stuff is kintergarden compared to Centerpointe. It's too
bad Centerpointe doesn't work for you. I spoke with Ms. Howell about 3 years ago and she told me that here current titles were works-in-progress, and that she was
looking to add features more like what Centerpointe has. We were both looking for a certain effect, beyond what was do-able with the current technology.
Centerpointe charges more because their technology does more. Too bad it doesn't work for you. It works for me just fine.

Other way around. It never works for the mentally retarded. I guess it won't work for you then.

Hi, Newbie.

Centerpoint only works for some people just like ALL the different kinds of SR each only work for some people. That is why I recommend everyone start with the workbook and then perhaps use biofeedback for those few for whom nothing works.

It does no good to blame ANY kind of SR (like many who responded) just because it did not work for you since that effect is dependent upon the individual and not on the kind selected.

Walt

The problem is Centerpointe's claim it would work on anybody and does not matter what the overt effects are - it works. Seems like a little of a loophole this one.

I have no problem with the money I spent on it but what about the time I wasted?

"The problem is Centerpointe's claim it would work on anybody"

EXACTLY! I've called Centerpointe and they said that the tapes/CD's work on ALL people, EVEN IF your thoughts are wandering and you have a hard time paying attention. They say just put the headphones on, close your eyes and the technology will cause the changes in your brain EVEN IF you dose off and fall asleep while listening. And an hour a day is a lot of time to waste listening to "bells" and "rain" IF it is NOT doing anything......now, IF it DOES work for someone then that is totally different...but, like you said, Centerpointe claims it WILL work for everybody.

So of course if it doesn't work for you, it works for no one. Well find something that works for you and start your SR, you are desperately in need of it.

Thanks, Newbie.

It would been good if you could have studied what this website has said for many years about SR BEFORE you wasted all that time.

I disparage the hucksters who say that their method (which they are selling) works for everyone. That simply is not the case for ANY approach to SR.

Walt
