SR through audio technology

Hi Walt and friends,
I have been reading about another method to get into Beta---Alpha--Theta--Delta and it involves listening to sound waves/frequences delivered underneath music or other soothing sounds. These compilations guarantee results even if you are not focusing or relaxing, they further state that simply listening through stereo headphones asures the desided results.

Two companies that offer these products are Holosync and Brainsync.

I am considering trying them but comments from Walt and all are requested.

Dave

I wouldn't be caught dead without my theta mediation system CDs from Dr. Jeffrey Thompson --I think through the Relaxation Company? Anyway, I never thought I'd be shopping in the New Age section, but in spite of the birds and waves, it's very effective stuff. I can reliably achieve theta in under ten minutes...that alone is worth $20 and the mild embarrassment.

You might want to check the archives. Walt's opinion as well as others are there. In the future, don't assume you are the first introduce this topic just because you don't see an active discussion underway.

Hi Dave,

I use these recordings very successfully, and there are a number of discussions in the archives about them. Walt feels that it does not matter how you get to alpha, so long as you get there (see his SR/Relaxation Response article). He calls this a passive sr technique because you don't have to do anything.

The Relaxation Company, Centerpointe and a few others also offer this type of recording.

I will say that you DO have to relax and/or focus - at least try to keep your mind directed at listening - in order to get the best effects. I mean it's not like you can work or play football while listening to these and still reach alpha/theta.

But they do work. Check the archives and/or do a search to learn more.

Walt also says helper, that in order to get maximum healing benefit from any form of SR is to practise 20 mins twice a day not once a day as recommended by Centerpointe.
audio technology/Centerpointe recommends for maximum benefit to practise one hour per day.

So which one is it? One hour per day or twice per day 20 mins each?

I usually listen to Walt.

In this case, Centerpointe is a specific product with specific instructions. So, if I were using Centerpointe, I would use their rules, and possibly add a 20 minute segment of some other type of SR to do it twice a day. I understand that Centerpointe is not a mere "skilled relaxation" exercise, but more of a structured program with specific goals.

SR, on the other hand is simply getting to alpha/theta. Walt's "rule" is drawn from studies that showed that the maximum benefit *for the time spent* is achieved in 2 20-minute sessions, more than 2 hours apart and at least 2 hours before retiring.

Personally, I do 2 30-minute sessions because the brainsync recordings I use are 30 minutes. I also have a few that are made up of 3 20-minute segments and sometimes if I'm really crunched for time, I use one of those CDs (Soma).

Make sense?

Didn't watch too closely it seems.

Centerpoint specifies 2x per day. In it's favor, those two hours reduce the need for sleep by as much as 6 hours, and allowing the body to regenerate even faster. I've been averaging 4-5 hours of sleep per night, down from 8-9.
It isn't for everyone, but for those it *IS* for, it works wonders.

Maybe you need to get some more sleep. My Centerpointe program specifically says, one hour per day, once a day. Thank you.

Maybe she is on a higher level?
How about 1 hr. for Centerpointe and 20-30 more using The Dive or another form of SR.
Learning to be flexible will be very helpful in your coming lives.

My instructions initailly specified just Dive, twice per day. Then Dive and Immersion, twice per day, then Dive and a full hour of immersion. Once per day. I do the former, 1 hour of Dive/Immersion twice per day mostly out of laziness.
Turn on the CD player, once in the morning and once in the evening. I have over 60 affirmations on my CD's, so two hours is about right. Tech suppost said not to go faster than I feel comfortable with, especially because I've packed my program with so many affirmations.
I don't think that other programs have such elaborate after-sales support, but then they don't do what Centerpointe does. Good luck in your further explorations.

I dont know how you find the time to cram in one hour in the morning and then one hour in the evening. Thats wonderful! I am just able to fit in one hour per day.

My initial instructions on Centerpointe included listening to 30mins of dive for first two weeks and then one hour per day of dive and immersion inclusive. Its bringing up lots of issues; emotional unresolved issues. I seem to have a lot of resistance unfortunately, and self sabotage issues at play, but by golly, I am determined to see this through, as I can feel myself changing and growing and its wondeful!

Hi, Cris.

That would work. Remember it is whatever works. Once you know what it feels like to be in the RR, getting there twice a day is what is needed to reverse the stress-effect storage I have been talking about.

It will still be just THIS one life, only it will look much different. Not many lives, cris, to be pedantic with ya. Although one can play many parts in this one life, to make it look like its many lives in one.

I think I know what your past lives have been, cris.

Really?

What were they? Please, just the unobjectionable ones, since this is a family forum.
P.S. the "lives" was just a plural to include many posters. I didn't mean to imply that one poster would have many lives, though I wouldn't categorically rule that out. Were you a 5th grade teacher in your past/present/future life, or just a prognosticator of hidden past lives?
