noisy mind

I've been a meditator for years and during a very intense period of my life, I had some very deep meditations. I assume that is the same as skilled relaxation. Well, in meditation the goal, so to speak, is "The Silence". I always assumed it meant a place where there were no thoughts. Zero. (And on the deepest levels, I am sure that is what it means.) But in one meditation, I went into the Silence. It is a "place", an energy where you can feel the Silence, the Love, the Healing. It envelopes you. And guess what, my mind talked the entire time!! But it was like the background noise of a radio, my focus was on this other feeling. Makes sense because the mind is separate from this "other" place (sort of). Maybe this helps.

I love what i heard one time about meditation; Meditation means seeing things the way they really are; Doesn't mean another words that the mind has no thoughts, it is just that we no longer let them influence us in the same way, we sit or stand or walk with a clarity of mind; Some people live in a meditative state most of the time [not many however-ha!] When we interact with life and maintain clarity and inner peace rather then react to it, we are in a meditative state-seeing things the way they really are; I guess,that means not trying to fix, change or make them our way, but we intuitively move moment to moment; Another words we aren't moving from the head so much -of I know-which is just a conclusion; Have you ever noticed that thought itself moves from one conclusion to another; We aren't boxed in when we don't stop at a conclusion, but we have awarness; Observatiom and understanding how the mind functions is awareness and appears to be freedom and a quiet state of mind; Living in a neural place takes a mind that is awake; Biofeedback meters really let us know if we are there;

T-L,

I think that is called, Living in the Now. Not worring
about the past or future and enjoying everything and finding
good and not bad in things. It is easy once you learn how
and can laugh at people who are always in a dither or
worry about everything nd want to change it.
