Testing

Hi,

We'll since I've started SHAPE's program 3+ months ago I've started to see some really good results. I've had a couple of flares, but overall I'm very happy with the

Review of background:
Psoriatic Arthritis, general digestive problems, foggy, the usuals that many of us experience. So far I've done the following:
1- Colon Clense as per SHAPE's suggestions (Herbal Fiberblend)
2- Candida Protocol (Cellulas Enzymes + High dose Bromelain by Tyler for 7 days, incorporated lamisil at day 5 through 13, incorporated SF722 and Caprylic Acid at day 10 through 20, incorporated a multi anti-fungal, candida complex by tyler, at day 20 to 24, incorporated citricidal at 24 to 28, and so on, and so forth). I incorporated Primal Defense at day 28 of the protocol, and rapidly by day 33 had it up to 12 tablets. Originally, I tried to incorporate it during week 2 of my colon clense, and it was too soon. I developed a severe upper respitory problem, along with tonns of flem (gross). I also used SHAPE's Tonic Supreme, and tonns of cayenne. I didn't react well to either, it caused my arthritis to flare in a big way.
3- Incorporated a liver clense during month 3. I bought chinease bitters, coptis, meta plus, and gold coin grass. I started with the chinease bitters, to which I had a very severe reation. I immeadiatly felt weak, fatigued, experienced some severy pressure in my chest, and heart palpitations. It's happened to me a couple of times with this type of severity, but it had been a while. I'm now wondering if I was experiencing a gallbladder attack. Anyways, I reduced the dosage from 1 tsp to 1/4 tsp. I also started the coptis, which seems to be much milder, and really helps even out my sleeping patterns. The point of this stuff was to ready me for a gallbladder clense. It's a 2 month program designed to remove congestion and crush stones, so that when you do run the gallbladder flush, it's more productive. The ingredients are based on TCM. I stopped the program a week ago due to a big meeting which required me to be on my game. I wasn't while using these products. Detoxing the liver isn't as hard on my system as the colon clense was, at least to start off with. In addition, it isn't as gratifying since you get to "see" your results every day during the colon clense. I somehow think, however that it's the next step. Which brings about my first question:

Should I do some testing at this point. I was thinking of performing the following:

1- I've had the CDSA performed about 1.5 years ago. Dated by now, so I think I'll have that redone.
2- At the same time I think I'll have the Functional liver profile done. I believe that the reaction I got from the chinese bitters wasn't due to an allery, but due to congestion. However, this formula does contain alcohol, so I can't say for sure. In addition, I've had elevated liver enzymes the last 2 years. If for no other reason, I should do it for that, and because at least one doctor has said that I have a slightly fatty liver, but not to worry about it (whatever that means! I now know that this is a lot more serious than he made it out to be).
3- Intestinal Permeability test. Does it need to be done? Maybe not. But how will I know if I'm doing the right thing if I don't have measurable results?
4- Candida Test. Immuno Labs claims now to have the best. Any thoughts?
5- Immuno Lab Tests. This is where I'm confused. I've had a "hightened" sensitivity to foods in general since the start of the colon clense. My stools have reached perfect bowel movement type passages. However, I'm reacting to a lot of foods, some of which I didn't react to prior to the clense. I've attempted the elimination diet, and after 6 days, I was reacting to fish and other veggies. I'm thinking of doing the following:
-IgG Elisa food sensitivity assay
In addition, Immuno offers a lot of other tests such as:
-IgE 36 Allergen Assays
-Extended Food Panel, IgE
-Anti-gliadin Assay
-Tissue Transglutaminase Antibody Assay
-Milk/Egg Sub-fractions Assay
-Environmental Mold IgG Panel

Any thoughts on how useful these tests are? I would like to do the first one in order to create a base on which to use the elimination diet more effectively. But these tests are pricey, so I need to be selective. Does anyone know if these tests are tax deductible, or has anyone ever claimed them on their PPO, HMO? Let me know.

In addition to the above, I've been supplementing with L-Glutamine, Permavite, emulsi factors by naturpharm, M7+ (a very concentrated enzyme formula by naturpharm), Wobenzyme (which I didn't think worked as well as M7+.

Any all help would be very appreciated. Finally, my SR, which I've been doing for 6-7 months really took another dimension after about 6 weeks of this program. I've been using a light and sound machine, which really appeals to the geek in me. In addition, I find it gets me in the "zone" a lot quicker than with tapes, cd's, etc. I've been tested, and I am getting into alpha/theta, that is when I'm not in "monkey brain" mode.

Thanking you all in advance, and for all of the help in the past,

Yours Truly,

Doug

Thanks, Doug.

Personally, I would save the tests for when you reach a plateau of progress in a year or so. The results of these tests will not change, appreciably, what you are doing.

This is one of the first things we are taught in medical school: If a test result will not change the treatment, do not do the test.
