Strep Throat?

Posted by Charlie M. on April 07, 2001 at 23:59:42:

Hello,

I think I may have strep throat. I have reddish bumps in the
back of my throat, but no fever. I had strep throat about 5 years ago, but had a very high fever. I'm just wondering if there is any way to remedy this? If it is indeed strep throat is there an alternative to atibiotics?

Thank you very much,

Charlie M.

I don't know about strep but garggling with cayenne and
salt water solves all my sore throats, sinus congestion,
urinary tract problems, stomach and intestional problems,
infected cuts, warts, athelete's foot, stiff or strained
muscles and a bunch more...

Hi, Charlie.

Only a test can tell you for sure and it is about a $5 test that the nurse in your doc's office can do without the doc even seeing you. ASK. It only takes about 5 minutes to do and get the result.

In the meantime, Dr Pepper's suggestions are good ones. Just be sure that you measure the salt in the gargle perfectly. Too much salt will cause irritation and not enough will cause swelling. 1/4 teaspoon/cup of hot water is right. Do it as often as your throat has symptoms and you probably will have relief of the problem in 48 hours.

Let us know how you do.

Walt
