Costochondritis or Gallstones?

Posted by Rayne Mills on July 30, 2003 at 10:02:12:

I just finished your book, it was awesome!
I do have a question.
I have suffered off and on with costochondritis for almost 4 years. This past weekend I did a lot of spring cleaning, mowing grass, digging in the yard etc.. When I awoke Mon. morning, I had this very mild dull ache about 2-3" below the last rib on the right. If I press along the bottom rib, it is very tender. The pain is not constantly there, seems to come when I move about or stretch my arms out. I felt under the rib and pressed, felt no pain, isnt this where the gallbladder is? Tucked under the bottom rib? Others say its higher up. Anyway, I can eat french fries, sausages, etc., which I don't do all that often. Does this sound like it could be muscle related? Or gallbladder related? Thank you for your time and the wonderful book.

Thanks, Rayne.

In this area, it is probably an abdominal muscle you over worked with the yard work.

The fact that you already have a history of costo, means that, unless you have been doing SR regularly, you are living on the edge of your bracing cliff and this pulled muscle is just an example of slipping at the edge of the cliff.

Gallbladder pain can be referred anywhere from the right knee to the right shoulder. This IS exactly where it is located but this does not sound like gallbladder to me.

See a good masseur or just use heat for a few days.

Let us know how you do.

Walt
