Freckles

Posted by MIA on March 01, 2003 at 21:45:36:

Hello,
I have had a few freckles treated with liquid nitrogen in order to get rid of them before they grow into moles.Although they have been treated twice, some of them are not completely gone.I was wondering if laser would be a more efficient and economical way to have the remaining few I have left removed.Thank you very much. This is a great web site.

Hi, MIA.

In my opinion, freckles never become malignant moles.

Laser is what I would use for things like this but, if the diagnosis is not a freckle, it must be biopsied for the lab.

The guy who treated them with liquid nitrogen must have been absolutely confident that they were actually freckles. However, if he was sure of THAT, then he should have denied himself the fee and explained to you that they NEVER become anything more than they are.

Walt
