I have had these dark areas on either side of my nose by my eye for about 3 years now. Strangely, I first noticed them when a friend pointed out that the sunglasses I was wearing were leaving these dark marks on my face. They never went away. I've since seen several dermatologists about it and noone can seem to explain it or be able to take care of it. I've used over the counter "fade creams" as well as been prescribed HQRA and Azelex to use in combination. Nothing has worked. I really believe those sunglasses caused the discoloration, they just showed up when I began to wear them and the dark areas are shaped just like the nose pads on sunglasses. Could they have caused my discoloration if so, what can I do about it? Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank You,
Sonja

Hi, Sonja.
You are likely right. Chronic and recurring pressure on one spot CAN do this in susceptible persons and ESPECIALLY on skin as thin and sensitive as the skin in that area.
Is there any way that you can stop wearing ANY glasses before it is too late? Contacts, maybe?
Let us know how you do.
