Whilst on holiday in Morrocco I was sold some strange looking roots by the local medicine man that I proceeded to burn in the frying pan whilst trying to prepare. Is there any such root that is known to help varicouse veins. Or was it a load of rubbish, that me the sucker tourist was lead to believe.

Collinsonia root is very effective for varicose veins and hemorrhoids. Perhaps this was a variation of same.

Dr. Stoll,
I am currently in the Air Force and was originally scheduled to go to pilot training in Apri. Recently, I was in San Antonio for the last of many Air Force physicals. While there, an echocardiogram was perormed, a test I have never taken before. I was diagnosed with Mitral Valve Prolapse, a condition which disqualifies me from pilot training. I have never known about this disease and have lived a healthy, athletic life for as long as I can remember. I read a paper you wrote, which basically described MVP as being a current fad in the medical world. Seems as though doctors are simply blaming everything they can't explain on MVP. What do you think about MVP with performance in flying activities.
Thanks,
Jason

Not a root, but still said to be effective -- horse chestnut.

and also those telenglasticas (spelling?) that people get on their faces from sun-exposure or rosacea. Broken blood vessels--supposed to help with that. I don't personally know the validity of this but I have READ this.

Hi, Jason.
MVP has NO effect on anything--other than physician's incomes and their excuse for not coping with the complex actual causes of symptoms they conveniently ascribe to MVP! Nearly all people with this bogus condition have no symptoms at all, ever.
You are a victim of this current FAD and there is nothing you can do about it but change your aspirations.
THEN, 50 years from now, when the medical profession finally admits to their perfidity, you can say: "I told you so." A lot of good it will do you then.
