I have a mild case of vericose veins, I have seen 2 doctors, a GP, and a surgeon. Both of them do not think I need surgery. The problem is iron leaching to my skin, discoloring the leg, and scabbing. My question is, is there anything I could take to remove the discoloration, and prevent future scabbing. At the present time I wear knee high custom support hose, and have been putting liquid vitamin E on the sore. I have the type of job where I am on my feet all day, the floors are cement. The discoloration started about l year ago when I scratched an area that was itcing on my left leg. Since then, I have made it a priority to not scratch this leg again, and have not done so.

Hi, Bill.
Although the docs you have been seeing should know what to do about this the solution to your problem takes education time that most docs do not like to do. They are making too much money doing what they do do.
Call the wound care centers of America at (800) 649-6863.
Let us know what you learn.

Tried the wound control center, found out this is a referal organization and there is no wound control center in the state of Wisconsin. Putting some vitamin K I bought over the internet on it now, we'll see what happens, thanks for Answering my message, I appreciate it.

Remember, Bill.
Your regular doc could as easily help you IF he would just take the time. The only reason wound centers are springing up is that local docs are too lazy to spend the time. It is not that they do not know how.
Hope this helps.
