varicose veins

I've read all the articles and posting from others on your site. And on many others. I have been to two doctors who both say I have deep vein problems. I started having problems 2 years ago. My left ankle swelled and when I went to the doctor he thought it could be a blood clot. I was sent to the emergency room to have an ultra sound done on it. No clot. After examining the leg again, the doctor said I had varicose veins. I have no veins on either leg that are large and bulging. I do have some small spider veins. After a short period of time both of my legs started swelling. If I stood on them too long they more than doubled in size. I went to another doctor who had the dappler test done. The circulation is good in the top part of my legs and slightly sluggish in the foot area. Again the diagnosis was varicose veins. At this time my legs are always sore to the touch, swell from above the knees to my feet. I have an area just above my ankle to about 6 inches up my legs that turns a darker color. At times my toes get numb because my legs are so swollen. I put them up as much as possible. I take the amount of vitamin E you have mentioned. I take a multi-vitamin for women. I also take an additional 1500 of calcium which I was told would help leg swelling. It has helped. I do walk even though it can be very painful at times. I tried the support hose but they made the leg pain worse. Since I can't seem to get a remedy from my local doctor could you suggest what type of doctor I should consult? I live in Las Vegas NV. I would appreciate any suggestions you might have.

Hi, Lana.

IF your diagnosis if "deep vein varicose problems" is correct, you truly DO have a serious problem. The only thing I know of that will help is bypassing the veins, in favor of the lynmphatic system, to help this problem.

Are you over weight?

Well, there IS one other solution but it involves your wearing a jet pilot suit for the lower half of your body for the rest of your life. You would have to pump it up to walk around. Of course, if you could get into orbit (& stay there) the problem would totally disappear.

That means gently rebounding a few minutes 10 times a day and spending as many minutes with your feet higher than your hips all the time. Find a simple book about rebounding to start understanding how, & why, this works.

Be happy that you still do not have deep sores on your legs that will not heal because that is where you are heading unless you can stop this.

Hope this helps.

Walt

Dr. Stoll:
I am 54 years old, 5'4" tall, and weight 148 lbs. I have a small bone structure.
I have purchased the horse chestnut extract to give it a try. And have also purchased inserts for my shoes that are suppose to increase circulation and help with leg and back pain. I'm willing to try anything as my problem is getting worse. I do have a mini-trampoline and will start using it more.
At this time I have no visible signs on my legs dealing with this problem. The answer I received from the two doctors I've seen locally was that it was something I had to learn to live with. Any information I have obtained has been off the internet and reading books. Thank goodness for sights like yours.
Thank you for replying to my request.
