Hi, cindy.

I do not think anyone knows the mechanism of action regarding vitamin E and varicosities. However, humans used aspirin for hundreds of years before having any idea of the "mechanism of action" and they are still being discovered.

Suffice it to say that it is pretty effective for some people and totally safe. Check with the Shute brothers (MDs) in Canada since they know the most about this.

Hi - I have added 400 mg. of Vitamin E to my daily supplements (I am now taking 850 mg.) Dr. Stoll advised me to do this when my varicose veins were getting worse--they were causing my legs to ache constantly. Since I have added the extra E, they do not bother me at all. Of course, it took about a week. I also use a trampoline but just gently bounce on it daily--that has also helped. I read a book called "Jumping for Health" by Morton (last name). He says in the book that Johnny Weismuller (do you remember him?) actually claims that he got RID of some of his vericose veins from jumping on the trampoline! I'm not expecting that to happen, but I am delighted that my legs are now free from pain. Hope this helps some.

Thanks, Raisa.

I have no doubt that Johnny W. was telling the truth. However, I have not pushed this on this BB because it does not help everyone as much as it did Johnny. It IS helpful to everyone but rarely will get rid of frank varicosities.
