hello,my mother-inlaw was diagnosed with scabies two days ago and ever since my wife told me i have been itchy,i have read up on it and it seems to me that i don't have any of the symptoms,but i can't stop itching,one second here next second over there,i also read it takes to weeks for any of the red spots to show up,is it in my head or am i starting to get them,i have had no physical contact with her except having her at our house or us at hers,any suggestions,i would rather stay away from the creams to maybe prevent them from progressing,help

Dear ed,

We humans seem to have a real aversion to "little bugs" that might be crawling on us. The chances are (unless you have been sleeping with her) that this is entirely psychologically produced----------not to disparage THAT since the more you itch, the more you WILL itch.

It might even take your actually treating yourself with the insecticide usually used to treat them to convince your brain that they are "gone" so you can get your mind off of it long enough for the itching caused by your itching to subside.
