Can anyone tell me why the product below would not only constipate me but also my 14 year old son!?

Description:
Lamberts MagAsorb provides high potency magnesium ( as citrate ) which has a superior absorption rate copared to other magnesium compounds. Lamberts specifically chose magnesium in the citrate form for MagAsorb since this is the form of the mineral most easily absorbed by the body and the form that has a wealth of scientific research supporting its use.
Ingredients:
Each tablet provides Magnesium (as Citrate) 150mg. Other Ingredients: Modified Starch, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Tablet Coating (Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Glycerin), Stearic Acid, Silicon Dioxide.
Dosage:
One to three tablets daily.
