Hello! I'm completely at whit's end here. I've been thru 5 doctors and 2 dermatologist and no one seems to have an answer. For the past 7 years I've had these bumps on my arms, neck and ears that seem to flare up when exposed to hot sunlight. Normal sunlight on a cool day doesn't seem to have much effect. I also have them on my chest and lower back but they are no where near as bad as the arms. Also, sometimes I get a bump or two on my face. They don't really itch that bad unless they get scratched by clothing or just about anything. The last couple of years, I've noticed redness around the bumps on my arms as well. It kinda looks like a sunburn in that area. When you press on the red area and let off, my skin looks white like it normaly should then goes rigt back to red.
Most Doc's throw a steriod pak at me and yeah, that works but a couple of weeks later while mowing the yard, they come back in full effect. They can stay around for over a month easy before they kinda peel away.
I do get them year round but it just looks like a couple of bites on my arm. In the summer time, it looks like a bad rash with thousands of small bumps then about 30-40 bigger bumps that look like bug bites.
I used to think it was caused from the sun only as I only broke out during the warm summer months then in the colder ones I was completly fine. Over the past few years, I've been getting them on my chest and lower back during this time. I believe its due to being in warmer clothes and the heat during the winter months. I'll also have a few on my arms.
I've tried benadryl and claritin as well with no effect. Also, the bumps sometimes, not always, are filled with clear puss that can be popped but then itch and take longer to heal.
The closest thing I've found to my illness is Chronic Heat Rash. I'm pretty set on this but don't know for sure. Only reason I believe this is because I get it year round just worse in the hot sun and in the off months its in areas where Im generally warmer, under clothes. Not to mention it takes so long to go away.
Any ideas? Thanks!
