Hi guys,
I am almost 47, been peri for years now, since 41 or so, or longer.
My hormones are very low in comparison to normal range because of
my mosaic xxx situation. For the past 6 months my periods are
having a hard time starting, and I am winding down, clearly. I have
NOT missed a period yet though, but they are all over the place from
21 days to 32 days, but usually falling closer to 24 or 25.
Two months ago I thought my blood pressure felt very high one day,
which is unusual for me. It is usually 110/76, or so. And then my
period started that day. The pressure dropped. Next period, normal
blood pressure. This period, which is due to start is very anxiety
producing, whatever is going on with the hormones, and I am
actually kind of scared and wanted to get some advice.
I had one hot flash years ago, in my early thirties. Not sure why, but
it was a doozy, looked like I had run a marathon in about 25
seconds. I have never had one again, until this morning. All night I
was really hot, and then this morning I got up, feeling anxious and
premenstrual, and very very warm. I ran to the thermostat expecting
85 degrees, but it was only 77, my usual comfort zone. Then, I
began to feel a bit of nausea, and jittery. Then I began having what I
think was a minor hot flash, and became just clammy, not soaked. I
felt jittery for about a half hour and then started to feel ok. Then the
bad stuff happened and put me out for the day. I leaned over to kiss
my cat on the head, and I got Vertigo. Bad! The room was spinning
around. I wasn't just light headed. I felt sick to my stomach, and
just sat on the bed, and felt kind of ok, so I got up and did some
stuff. About a half hour later I kind of forgot about it and leaned
over to kiss my other cat...jeez..same thing. So the leaning forward
quickly started it both times. This time, I felt sick, and very very
jittery. I haven't been hungry all day. All I could eat was some plain
yogurt and a bit of raisin bran mixed in, and a lot of water today.
I did SR in bed, and worked my back with the back nobber, which
really helped to feel better.
I read the archives tonight, and I looked up on line to see if this
could be menopausal, and sure enough, it most certainly could be
hormonal...but, what about the leaning over part?
Dr. Stoll, what do you think? I am concerned because I don't have
insurance anymore and I can't afford a bunch of tests right now.
I would like to assume that since my diet is good and I do SR, and I
do exercise, although not enough lately, that this is hormonal.
Especially since it was so close to a hot flash and my period is
supposed to be starting. But, the leaning over part has gotten my
curiosity up for it being something else.
Any advice?
Thanks a bunch.
