More information on why NOT to use sunscreen. The Water Babies I used to put on my kids is listed as high hazard!!
Now I use a hat and T-shirt on them if we are going to be out too long in the sun. No sunburn, no chemicals!!
It cracks me up to see perfectly sane (??) people slathering this junk on their pale kids, looking at me strangely for not smearing this crap on my healthy tanned kids. I actually lie to my mother and sister and tell them that I put the sunscreen on because I'm tired of explaining and listening to their reasons why I am a bad mother if I don't use it.
My sister uses gallons of sunscreen on her pale son and says he needs it because he is pale and doesn't tan. OF COURSE HE WON'T TAN!!! YOU'RE PUTTING TONS OF SUNSCREEN ON HIM!!!!
