According to the Serbian recipe I found, the red on the eggs
is to signify the blood of Christ, but it seems some countries
use other colours too. We used to put silver coins in
Christmas puddings, I don't know the origin of it though. I
guess I must have the recipe for the Greek Easter Bread in
one of my cookery books but have never made anything like
that. I'd love to go to Greece for Easter, theirs is a more
genuine celebration than ours. I have some photos of a
religious procession I watched a couple of years ago and can
post it on the new board along with my favourite tiny church
built into a rock face. I'm in the process of sorting photos of
my daughter's wedding and our latest trip but the program is
a huge mystery to me!
