Do you have hard water? From reading about it I'm starting to think that hard water protects you from water fluoridation to a great extent, since fluoride combines with the calcium so readily. Once combined with calcium (to make calcium fluoride, a very stable molecule) the fluoride is rendered much less active in the body then it would have been as the highly unstable fluorides added at the fluoridation plant.
We use the Black Berkey. I didn't install the fluoride filter and have been drinking the city-fluoridated water for years. I had a lab test recently that measures body levels of halides, by provoking their elimination and was shocked but pleased to learn that I have low levels of fluoride- which tends to confirm the theory in my mind.
